Send A Smile Today Receives Promising Project Award from the 2014 Big C Competition by LIVESTRONG

Aurora, IL October 22, 2014 – Send A Smile Today has been awarded a Promising Project award from the 2014 Big C Competition by LIVESTRONG. Out of over 750 entries from 32 countries, Send A Smile Today was one of 60 ventures selected to receive a portion of the $140,000 awarded to the finalists and semi-finalists.

The Big C Competition is at the forefront of social innovation, solutions that start here will change the cancer landscape forever creating a better world for the 32.5 million people living with cancer today. The Big C Competition challenged thinkers and innovators to pursue ideas and create patient-centered solutions that could improve the daily lives of people affected by cancer.

Semi-finalists in the competition were paired with cancer survivor mentors in order to make sure the voice of the patients and caregivers were considered in the final project design.

The mission is to let cancer patients know that they are never alone by sending them caring cards in the mail on a regular basis from time of diagnosis through treatment to survivorship.
