It’s our 5 year anniversary!

This month, June 2019, Send A Smile Today celebrates our 5 year anniversary! Five years ago we had a vision and a mission – to simply let those with cancer know they are never alone.

We are amazed by the continued donations we receive from YOU who are individuals, businesses, non-profits, religious organizations, Girl Scouts, colleges & universities, schools, scrap-booking enthusiasts, our current or past card recipients, those who have been touched by someone with cancer, or those who simply want to provide smiles to others.

To date, we have mailed nearly 6,000 uplifting greeting cards to 733 cancer patients in 48 states. We couldn’t provide smiles to those with cancer without your love and support – thank you so much. We hear all of the time from our card recipients how much receiving a card means to them. Please know you are making a difference. Keep up the great work!

Much Gratitude,

Kim Whitehouse

Send A Smile Today: Louisville non-profit group needs help cheering up cancer patients

LOUISVILLE, KY (WAVE) – A local non-profit group that collects postage stamps is in need of some donations.

Send A Smile Today doesn’t collect the stamps as a hobby; rather, the group needs stamps to use on cards that are sent to cancer patients across the country. Its call for donations can be seen below:

The group is based in Louisville and according to its Facebook page, its mission “is to let cancer patients know they are never alone by regularly mailing uplifting greeting cards: from time of cancer diagnosis – through treatment – to survivorship.”

The cards are mailed monthly to “anyone of any age with any type of cancer.”

Below are some contact details for anyone interested in making a donation.

Forever Stamp Drive – please donate stamps

We need your help!

Our Forever stamp inventory is very low. Please donate stamps.

In September 2018 we mailed cards to 175 cancer patients. We have less than 550 stamps remaining in inventory which is enough to mail cards to those with cancer through the month of November 2018.

How can you help?

From now until October 31, 2018 we are holding a STAMP DRIVE. Our goal is to collect 3,000 stamps which will allow us to mail cards to cancer patients through the end of 2019, as projected.

If you would like to help out, please mail your stamps donation to:

Send A Smile Today

We love hearing from our card recipients!

“Dear Send A Smile Today,

Just wanted you to know that your cards are doing their intended trick.  I had a real soupy poopy night first chemo, couldn’t make it to the mailbox, but next day there was your smiling cheerful message waiting for me!”
